Biography

I have worked in higher education as an educator and researcher since 2006. During this time I have conducted marine research across the globe including Mexico, Indonesia, Bahrain and Greece. Together with collaborators, we have protected oyster reefs in Essex, coral reefs in Mexico and Indonesia and currently close to protection of coralligenous reefs in the Aegean Sea in the Mediterranean.

I have developed new BSc degrees in Ecology and Environmental Biology and Global Sustainability, the latter of which is interdisciplinary in nature working together with all 3 faculties and departments including Economics, Government, Psychology, Philosophy and Sociology. I have developed 10 new modules in Life Sciences and been appointed to leadership roles including Director of Education, Director of Employability, Director Marine Biology, Sustainability Lead and currently Director of the new interdisciplinary BSc Global Sustainability.
